First off, we apologize for the cracking audio during this week’s show. We are aware of the issue, and we are working to resolve the problem. Thank you in advance for your patience while we work out these technical issues.
This week off-night raiding rustles a few Boomkin feathers and some unset rules prove important when dealing with mains and alts. A few chat room questions pose the question of whether profession specializations are relevant in current content, and what benefits there may be in bringing them back.
Our guild is now recruiting an Enhancement Shaman, Holy/Disc Priest, and Holy Paladin. Qualified applicants should have Tier 9 gear, or equivalent, and be available to raid consistently every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8:30 PM to Midnight, CST. Please visit our Recruitment Forums for details or to apply!
Don’t forget to tweet a #RAWRCASTto enter an WIN a [Tuskarr Kite] loot card from WootLoots.com.

The tree is up, the presents are unwrapped and the chaos is dying down. How was your Christmas? Did you get what you wanted? I have to admit, I was kinda ‘meh’ when I saw the in-game present. I checked the presents and logged out of the madness that is the Argent Dawn server. Did you log in today?
Well from all of us at Rawrcast.com to all of you, we want to wish you a happy, safe, and a holly, jolly Christmas.

After the break, a video that completely sums up how I feel about this Christmas
The Hunter, Mongojerry’s, list for Greatfather Winter
Hello Greatfather Winter, I really hope that you saw how good I was this year. I actually didn’t kill too many things considering that I spent a solid 9 months treading water off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale. The best part of getting out of the water was drying off by the fire in the inn, and getting some real rest.
I know that I ended up in the water because of some strange phenomenon called lag. For my first request I would like this lag issue to go away. Please Greatfather Winter, make the game a little more forgiving when it comes to lag. There are quite a few instances and raids, like the safety dance, where even 250 ms of lag will get you killed if you are not careful. Now, I am not going to even try to understand the game mechanics that are involved with a jabillion players, mobs and critters to keep track of in the game. All I know is lag sucks and even with a strong connection, there are nights where the game is unplayable. Read more…

Last night while running heroic Utgarde Pinnacle, just after Skadi beamed down, spun around, tossed a few poison arrows, and then dropped like a Nazi in a Quentin Tarantino movie, my group and I decided to see what useless blue loot he had dropped for a group who completely out geared the instance. To our surprise, he not only dropped the Netherbreath Spellblade, he also dropped the coveted Reins of the Blue Proto-Drake. After the Ulduar drakes, he has to be the most awesome. I’m not a fan of the magenta proto-drake, or even the green proto though he does come close. Maybe it’s because I like the color blue and because all of the blue drakes in Wrath are from instances with insanely low drop rates which means even if you happen to beat the RNG in round one, you still have to roll against, 4, 9, or 24 other people for the blue beast in round 2. On Thursday, we talked about the forums and ways for Ghostcrawler to improve his image while maintaining and presence on the forums. Today, I will address how Ghostcrawler has changed an entire community and how I am likely to remember him long after they shut down the World of Warcraft servers.
Back in July when Elder Gaming posted on the WoW B Team, I was one of the people who came to the B teams’ defense. There is often a stigma with when you mention something like B movie or B team. The very connotation of a B student is one who is alright, but not the best, those students get the A status. We all know that sometimes the B status isn’t really all that bad though.
The NFL currently has 2 high profile quarterbacks who started out as backups or 2nd teamers, B teamers if you will. One is the 78 million dollar man who plays for the Dallas Cowboys known as Tony Romo, and the other is the 3 time Superbowl champion and 2 time Superbowl MVP for the New England Patriots, Tom Brady. Surprisingly, their stories are very similar, they both were late round draft picks up, were backups for an overall number one draft pick, Drew Bledsoe, and both were given the reigns to their teams at a time when practically no one but their teammates even knew they existed, and then, well, they started down 2 very different paths. Yesterday, we examined the current state of the Ghostcrawler experiment. Today, we will take a look at how the forums are nothing more than a nuisance for someone as intelligent as GC, and why he needs to follow his instinct, and get the hell off of there.
The answer to the Ghostcrawler experiment is hidden deep within season four of The West Wing. When GC told us why he believed blue trackers sucked, he reminded us all that 10 word answers are just the tip of the sword. Players post on the forums, and when they do one of two things happen. They give a 10 word rant that looks something like, “ZOMFG, why do paladins suck, I’m canceling my account” and fail to give the next 10 words, or the next 10 after that. They fail to really have the opportunity to express their concerns. If they try and take the other approach, well the first replies on a lengthy post lean towards, “don’t wall of text noob.” Read more…

Over the next few days, I will take an in-depth look at Ghostcrawler and just exactly what he means to the community. Today I will tackle the overview and assess where we are currently in the relationship the player base has with Ghostcrawler.
Adam Holisky over at wow.com had a pretty astute post on the vocal minority in WoW, and though I wholeheartedly agree with him, I think it is important to remember the vocal minority have been the primary catalyst in social change over the last half century. Because it would only be asinine to try and compare DKs angry over scourge strike and the civil rights movement, I will refrain, but it is important to at least be cognizant that different people approach reform differently.
For those of you who believe the player base has no right to question the intent of the development team because if given the opportunity, we would likely just program our respective class into god mode, I will remind everyone there was a time when certain developers did essentially the same thing with respective classes and specs like the tanking warrior. Of course it was all performed under the guise of the hybrid tax, and as long as we give something a really nifty name and remind everyone it is done for a greater good, it makes it OK right? Just a friendly reminder that the snowball fights in Ironforge are going to break out again tomorrow as Winter’s Veil starts again. This is a really fun holiday, and I dare to say that it is my favorite! I stock up on snowballs and bust them out in raids in July, just to remind everyone on how much I really like Winter’s Veil. I highly suggest getting the PVP part done quickly. Playing as a hunter this time around is going to be easier than the DK was last year, but somehow, I got it in just one shot in AV. Maybe I will get lucky again this year.
What do you think of PVP requirements in holidays? Personally, I love to PVP, but many don’t. Read more…
