Every once in awhile, I will read something that just blows my mind. It seems as though some really smart people have gone out and developed a way to play WoW with the Kinect using various motions that are translated to key bindings on the computer. Click here for the link to the download, and Engadget did a nice write-up on the whole deal, complete with sarcasm. While it is true that this tech is really amazing, I don’t see this really working for anything more than a tech demonstration.

~On a side note, my son did get a Kinect from his grandparents. After poo-pooing it for almost two years now, I have to say that it is an impressive bit of technology, and it got all of us in front of the tv jumping and dancing like idiots. Dance Central is a must-buy if you are considering buying one.

Now that Cataclysm is a couple days out of the gate, people are doing dungeons, leveling and gearing. The quests seem new, still familiar but the tightening up of the linearity and the quests are being more cohesive with extensive phasing seems to be the hi-light so far. Let’s see what some others are saying.

Jaded Alt: Impressions of Vash’jir
Jaded Alt’s Windsoar gives her opinion on the new starting zone, Vash’jir. Windsoar raises good points getting used to the Z axis, along with mandatory taking of quests to open up the rest of the zone due to heavy phasing. Also posted a list of enchants for casters.

I know that everyone is probably knee deep in Worgen at this point and the news that everyone is following is most likely the Gilneas Gazette but an incredibly interesting leak occurred yesterday around Blizzard’s Product Schedule. You can check out the full article here but for the TLDR crowd, it looks like there are several expansions schedule for WOW, Starcraft and Diablo 3. Additionally, there is the mysteriously named Titan, which my gut tells me is Blizzard’s next MMORPG. Totally worth a read if you can break away from Azeroth for five minutes!
