The Secret Chicken

November 26, 2010 :: Posted by - Stompalina :: Category - Other

We have a resident “hax ninja” in our guild that goes by the name Totii. You may have heard us mentioning his antics before on the podcast. He’s always scaling walls, blinking into boxes, and finding little hidden treasures that Blizzard has hidden for us all over the game. Needless to say, he is always quite entertaining.

Totii’s most recent adventure involves the beautiful little Auction House in the midst of the completely updated Orgimmar. The Vally of Strength houses what is sure to be Totii’s latest hax triumph, finding The Secret Chicken.

Atop the new Auction House is a chicken coop, and getting behind the invisible wall surrounding the auctioneers is no small task. But, it’s one that any hax mage shouldn’t have any problem blinking through.

  • Once the wall is penetrated, hop along the back wall behind the flag
  • Hop over to the beam
  • Walk slowly along the beam
  • Hop over the candles and whatnot on the second beam
  • Hang a left towards the chicken coop

There you will find The Secret Chicken. In my eyes the chicken is meant to be found by any pro, like Totii, or the other complete nub who fell of the beam and gave up (me).

Pro-Tip: Once you make it up to the beam, drop a Warlock summoning stone with your partners in crime. That way, if you fall outside the “invisible wall”, your friends can summon you back up without issue. Otherwise, you are kinda stuck out unless you all go through the adventure all over again.

Have you found some “ninja hax” in the updated 4.0.3 terrain and cities?

Why I’m Thankful for 4.0.3

November 25, 2010 :: Posted by - Stompalina :: Category - Cataclysm

While we spend the day reflecting upon our lives, love, and family, I wanted to also take a moment to reflect upon the bounty that has been bestowed upon us this week with patch 4.0.3. In case you have been living under a rock, The Sundering happened this Tuesday and the entire face of Azeroth has changed.

The Sundering

I went to bed Monday night, wished Azeroth a fun patch day, and logged in Tuesday evening to the wrath and carnage of one big angry pissed off dragon. I’m kinda bummed that the terrain changes weren’t phased. It would have been cool to watch the land change as Deathwing moved the tectonic plates, or washed dead bodies ashore. But, alas, it all happened while I slept. Read more…

Please Wash Me

November 23, 2010 :: Posted by - Izrina :: Category - Other

If you are like me and use your computer on a daily basis, do me a favor. Pick up your keyboard, turn it upside down, and shake it. You will be amazed at how much debris falls out. This is especially true if you eat at your computer, but even if you don’t there is going to be an amount of dirt and skin that fall out of it.

Very few people seem to clean off their keyboard at least once a month, and even less clean off their mouse. Bacteria get on to keyboards in a number of ways. A big factor is eating lunch at your desk. Dust is also a problem as it traps moisture, creating a perfect environment for bugs to breed. Did you know that your keyboard can have more germs on it than a toilet? If you eat around your computer, you can find even more little nasty’s lingering around your fingertips. Crumbs of food lodge between the keys and encourage the growth of bacteria. If you do not clean off your computer at least once a month, you might as well eat your lunch on the toilet. Read more…

The Diary of a Community Fan Part 4

November 22, 2010 :: Posted by - Fondre :: Category - BlizzCon, Community

candyIn the final installment of my series on the Rawr Crew’s adventures at BlizzCon and it’s after hours events. You can read part one, part two and part three here.

The overview and looking back on BlizzCon’s events

Like a kid in a candy store, you have choices, will you eat enough to satisfy yourself, eat till your stuffed or will you eat so much you have vomit coming out your nose? How much should we get out of BlizzCon? I can say that for myself it was vomit out the nose. BlizzCon is an event where my expectations were set high and I had only one option, gorge myself.

To pretend that I had anything to do with BlizzCon meeting and exceeding my expectations would be a lie. The weekend, the events and my geek out moments would not have been anywhere near as enjoyable without Laviolet, guildies and the Rawr Crew. I do have a specific person to thank due to her planning and execution, Stompalina. Read more…

WoW+Wife=?

November 22, 2010 :: Posted by - WahWah :: Category - Other, PVE, Role Play

Huzband and WifeNow, I know what you’re thinking. Another victim of too much Warcraft time and another divorce, thanks to the game. Well not exactly, see this edition focuses on a nerd’s life with the wife before she played Warcraft vs. when she gave in and discovered the beauty that is WoW.

Pre-Wife WoW Life

I’ve been playing Warcraft since roughly the summer of ’05, while at the same time dating my now wife. WoW use to be the biggest argument in our relationship. I played too much, didn’t pay attention to her, and of course, the vent talking and having to tell her for the 500th time, “That wasn’t to you”. If you ever had to say this, you know that goes about as well a solo run through 40-man Naxaramas. This lead to us breaking up at least once, possibly twice, and finally to me quitting the game for several months as a peace offering.  Nothing makes you feel like a nerd more than negotiating raid times so I can finally give a guild the thumbs up on my attendance.  Eventually, I mustered the rage to ask her to marry me and we eloped.
