The uber leet can easily get into a pickup raid group. I want to run with people I can count on to show up, with buff food, with bandages, with potions, with flasks, and with an attitude of “we’ll do whatever we can to see this through.”

Which is why I left my previous server, after the Guild Leader position changed hands to a guy who favored raiders who’d show up at the last minute but who had a higher DPS, and bumped me 5 raids out of 7. Did he offer to help me find out how to improve my DPS? No. Did he ask if I minded (as one of the Guild’s founding members) being pushed aside for people I didn’t even know? No. Did he even notice when I took the core group of original members with me on a server transfer? I have no idea. And I don’t give a rat’s ass, either.

Now we have three reliable members, and we’ll get more, because new members get to see how a core raid group is formed from the ground up.

These people already have a rapport with each other and are used to each others play styles.
