Rawrcast Goes to BlizzCon: From the Floor

October 25, 2010 :: Posted by - Stompalina :: Category - BlizzCon

Our trip to BlizzCon RULED, and we have it all screenshot – it did happen. As I have time I will be editing and posting pictures YouTube videos, and much more as things are prepared.

We will also begin planning a RAWRCON: BlizzCon Over Beers Rap Up special episode to get together with all of the Rawr Crew represented at BlizzCon. It has been an unforgettable experience.

In the meantime, two very important members of our Rawr Crew, Nolari aka. Jason and Iylara aka. Jocelyn, have been kind enough to take pictures from the BlizzCon Convention floor on Saturday while we were setting up The Raid event. Jason’s a real pro, and I appreciate him sharing his talent. Check them out! Read more…

BlizzCon 2010: The PVE Perspective Part 1

October 23, 2010 :: Posted by - Sippycup :: Category - BlizzCon

BlzzCon 2010Editor’s note: Please welcome Sippycup to the Rawrcast crew. I am sure that you all that listen to the podcast have heard the name mentioned when Stomp and Haf talk about Bound and their raiding experiences. Chris brings a wealth of information and old-school perspective from the game, and I am proud to have him on the team! -Ozimandias

On site here at Blizzcon 2010 sharing with the Rawrcast community an experience like no other. Day 1 at Blizzcon has come to a close, as most of you know by now, much to the dismay of us all, Blizzard blew it’s proverbial load in the weeks leading up to Blizzcon having already a street date for Cataclysm, and the cinematic trailer. Instead of putting it all out there during Blizzcon, and one has to wonder why? The following is a recap of the events of today. I hope you enjoy. Read more…

BlizzCon 2010: Take Two

October 23, 2010 :: Posted by - Ozimandias :: Category - BlizzCon

WoW Live Raid 2010So hopefully the fires are all out, the booze is drunk and the sun is coming up over BlizzCon for Day 2 of our coverage! The team and I are going to dig in here in just a bit and live-blog our little hearts out again. There are some great panels coming up today, and I am really looking forward to the WoW Class Q&A coming up! Then there is open Q&A, which I like to say, is the who’s-who among guys-that-look-like-they-live-in-mom’s-basement. But hey, I am sure that we are going to learn a ton of great stuff. Also, I still have lots of lootcards to give away throughout the day, and there are also cards to be given away on location at BlizzCon. Head to Rawrcast.com/live and join the chat, and catch up on the live-blog.

BlizzCon 2010 – Day 1 Quick Recap

October 22, 2010 :: Posted by - Eulixe :: Category - Blizzard, BlizzCon, Cataclysm

BlizzCon Woaw! 11 hours later we just got back to the hotel after day 1 of BlizzCon!

This is just a quick update to let you guys and girls know how things are going.

I can say Blizzard has really outdone themselves this year. All of the panels have been an absolute blast (especially the WoW Lore panel, although that could be me being  slightly biased) and when I say we got hold of some awesome lore details, I mean it. If you didn’t catch the Lore panel at Blizzcon or on the live stream, I’ll make sure to cover everything we heard on Lands of Lore.

In terms of breaking news, there wasn’t a whole bunch this year. Sadly the elusive mystery IP remains unknown, but theres always next year eh? What we did find out however was the last class that will be coming to Diablo 3, the Demon Hunter. Think Sylvanas but with dual wield crossbows, she kicks ass! If you’re at Blizzcon you can give her a whirl.

There is also a bunch of community mods for SC2 that are playable including a Peggle mod which rawks! Of course the latest version of the Cata Beta is playable and I get more and more excited the more I see of it. Apart from that, there are the guys from Razr here, Jinx, Richard. Knaak (who writes some of the WoW books) and TONS of other stuff. Read more…

Deathling is BlizzCon 2010′s Swag Loot!

October 14, 2010 :: Posted by - Ozimandias :: Category - BlizzCon, Cataclysm, Other

DeathlingIf you are there at BlizzCon 2010, braving the Con-Flu and taking in the epic-ness that is BlizzCon, then you are going to get Deathling in your Swag Bag. Now we have heard a ton of rumors that this was going to be an epic swag year to be at BlizzCon, but I think that it is safe to say that this just speaks for itself. The box says that it will never go in to commercial production, and that each one is hand-painted. Even though we have seen figurines before; this little guys is shaping up to be the must-have item, even more so than the figurines that shipped with the most expensive version of Halo: Reach. Gear Up For Blizzcon!

September 30, 2010 :: Posted by - Kenny D :: Category - BlizzCon, Other

Unless you have been living in a very, very deep and aurally impervious hole, you would know that Blizzcon is coming soon.  Actually, maybe a little sooner than soon.  Well, I guess now we’re discussing the definition of ‘soon,’ which is a thoroughly uninteresting and taxing imposition of your time, so let’s just scratch that.  Let’s start again.

Blizzcon!  October 22-23!  Anaheim Convention Center!

Jesus, did your respective genitalia just jump?  Yeah, mine didn’t either, but it’s still pretty damn exciting.  In all of this excitement, you still have to do some increasingly menial yet thoroughly important grunt work.  Let’s talk about some of the stuff you should bring with you to B-Con. Disclaimer: While it should be extensive, there’s a good chance that I’ll leave something out that you think is essential.  I invite you to leave a comment; I’ll add your suggestion to the list.  So, without further ado, the list… right after the break! What are you doing?

September 24, 2010 :: Posted by - Kenny D :: Category - BlizzCon, Cataclysm, Community

Every day, we are one more day closer to putting Arthas and the rest of WoTLK in our rearview mirrors to bolt around on our swellegant (10 simoleons to whomever can name that reference) 310-speed mounts in the new Azeroth.  (Reading some iteration of that every day has to get old.  I apologize.) We’re one day closer to exploring all of the great new content we’ve been salivating over since the last Blizzcon, and if you are actually still listening to WoW podcasts and reading this, then you are quite obviously excited as well.  So what do you do with these last few months?  Still raiding 4 nights a week?  Are you hectically grinding badges for gold and justice points?  Maybe you’re going back to the old world, and farming ore and herbs to play the stock market?  Or maybe you’re being more sentimental about the whole thing and going back, leveling an alt, just so you can experience the 1-58 grind the way that you used to.Whatever it is, let us know.  How are YOU playing the game right now?

As for me, I am polishing off some long-neglected alts when I have the time from raiding as that’s really the only way to get a serious influx of gold without running daily quests.  And daily quests got horrendous at about the 300th day of doing them.  I’m JUST saying.  (This is, of course, all to say that I will once again be doing my 25-per-day once Cata drops… I want my reps!)

I am very interested to hear what you’re up to, so let me know!
