June is LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-gender) month in the US and elsewhere, and Blizzard recognized it with the gayest wallpaper that they have ever released. More importantly, it means that there are going to be lots of gay pride events around the world, including in the World of Warcraft!
Proudmoore Pride has been held every year since WoW’s launch and has been primarily run by The Spreading Taint family of guilds. This year, it will be on June 19th at noon PST. Many, many LGBT-friendly guilds and players take part in Proudmoore Pride from both factions. While I don’t know an exact number, it was easily over 500 last year, perhaps upwards of a thousand, and it has grown extremely quickly year to year, likely faster than the growth of the WoW player base. The Spreading Taint family of guilds alone reports 4,658 unique members have at some point been recorded in one of the guilds over some 12,000 characters. Even if you are not interested in the parade itself, it’s still quite an event to witness this many players in one place.
Players not currently in a guild on the US Proudmoore realm, or who would like to network with the The Spreading Taint on Horde or Stonewall Family on Alliance, can join a temporary guild connected to the other guilds’ chat. Both The Spreading Taint and Stonewall Family are already comprised of several guilds, so visitors fit right it. There are lots of guilds that participate, both Proudmoore and guest guilds from other servers, so if you are looking for an LGBT friendly guild, the parade is a great place to get to know people. The Alliance players start in Theramore and march toward Camp Taurajo, where they meet up with Horde players to march toward Ratchet to take the boat to Booty Bay for a party. If you’ve ever wanted to see a time when Dalaran is empty and you may disconnect from lag in Booty Bay, this may be your only opportunity.

So, Blizzard has given us a many holiday in-game, like Feast of Winter Veil (Christmas), All Hallow’s Eve(Halloween), Noblegarden(Easter), Lunar Festival(New Year’s and Chinese New Year’s), and Brewfest(Octoberfest), but where is my In-Game equivalent of Saint Patrick’s Day? I mean, this is a holiday all about Irish Immigration and where it has moved people to. The United States, Britian, Australia, Canada, Argentina, and New Zealand among many others.
I think that if I can play a game with hundreds of thousands pre-pubescent kids running around Brewfest who are drinking until everything on their little monitors becomes fuzzy, I should get a holiday celebrating the Irish-ness of this world. Read more…
The tree is up, the presents are unwrapped and the chaos is dying down. How was your Christmas? Did you get what you wanted? I have to admit, I was kinda ‘meh’ when I saw the in-game present. I checked the presents and logged out of the madness that is the Argent Dawn server. Did you log in today?
Well from all of us at Rawrcast.com to all of you, we want to wish you a happy, safe, and a holly, jolly Christmas.

After the break, a video that completely sums up how I feel about this Christmas

The Hunter, Mongojerry’s, list for Greatfather Winter
Hello Greatfather Winter, I really hope that you saw how good I was this year. I actually didn’t kill too many things considering that I spent a solid 9 months treading water off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale. The best part of getting out of the water was drying off by the fire in the inn, and getting some real rest.
I know that I ended up in the water because of some strange phenomenon called lag. For my first request I would like this lag issue to go away. Please Greatfather Winter, make the game a little more forgiving when it comes to lag. There are quite a few instances and raids, like the safety dance, where even 250 ms of lag will get you killed if you are not careful. Now, I am not going to even try to understand the game mechanics that are involved with a jabillion players, mobs and critters to keep track of in the game. All I know is lag sucks and even with a strong connection, there are nights where the game is unplayable. Read more…
Just a friendly reminder that the snowball fights in Ironforge are going to break out again tomorrow as Winter’s Veil starts again. This is a really fun holiday, and I dare to say that it is my favorite! I stock up on snowballs and bust them out in raids in July, just to remind everyone on how much I really like Winter’s Veil. I highly suggest getting the PVP part done quickly. Playing as a hunter this time around is going to be easier than the DK was last year, but somehow, I got it in just one shot in AV. Maybe I will get lucky again this year.
What do you think of PVP requirements in holidays? Personally, I love to PVP, but many don’t. Read more…
